For every WSL parent that would like to see their athlete play at a higher level – but is not interested in travel. For every coach that would like to coach soccer but is unsure where to start.
For every recreational athlete that would like to play High School Soccer.
GOAL: To offer recreational athletes an academy style program where they work on foots kills and play small sided games. To educate coaches in proper mechanics and fundamentals of soccer. To allow WSL community-based programs to offer training for local athletes that choose not to travel. To offer recreational coaches an educational experience that will allow them to coach at a higher level.
Whippet Soccer League will be a viable option for parents that do not want to travel; or younger athletes that would like to someday play on a travel team.

Once again I want to say thank you to all that registered for spring soccer. We are in the final stages of getting Coaches lined up with teams. I wanted to provide everyone with some much anticipated dates. Uniforms have been ordered and should be in my hands by the end of the month. Just like last year we will not be having any practice or games during spring break. Also the campus will be shut down on 4/7 and 4/8 due to the solar eclipse. We will have mandatory meeting at the High School GYM on 4/9/24 @ 6:00pm. Prior to the meeting please clink on the link for Lindsay's Law. Parents / guardians and youth athletes must watch the required video, and print and sign the required signature form. If you are able to do so, please turn in at the meeting.

Practices will start on 4/10/24 - SHS grass soccer field
5:00 pm - 3/4th & 5th/6th teams
6:00 pm - 1st / 2nd grade teams

Games will be played on Sundays......with the last game being played on Wednesday the 29th. There will be no Sunday game on 5/26 due to graduation, so it was moved to the 29th.

Sunday game times:
2:00 pm - 3rd / 4th & 5th / 6th
3:00 pm - 1st / 2nd grade teams
Wednesday final game -
5/29 - 5:00pm - 3rd/4th & 5th/6th
6:00pm - 1st / 2nd
Picture Day - Sunday 4/21
Coaches should be assigned by the end of the week, and will be in touch.

About the Soccer League
It all starts with a dream: a dream to be a Whippets Soccer Player. At WSL , we’ve been making dreams come true since 2019, when girls soccer became a sport at Shelby High School. Our plan is to give the youth in our community the opportunity to learn how to play the game, and to prepare them for high school soccer and beyond! Your child will receive quality training / clinics by knowledgeable, experienced Soccer Coaches. Volunteer Coaches will also receive quality training.

VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED - If you are interested in coaching your child's team, please mark the appropriate box in the players registration form. A pre-season coaches clinic / meeting will be held as soon as we have a list of volunteers, and background checks have been completed.

Players will receive a complete uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks)

Players must provide their own soccer cleats, age appropriate size soccer ball, and shin guards.

**Payment due by registration closing date (March 3, 2024) so your child's uniform can be ordered promptly.
**No uniforms will be ordered without payment - NO EXCEPTIONS
